The Lease or Residential Tenancy Agreement
The terms lease and residential tenancy agreement can both be used to describe a contract to rent a place to live. ‘Residential tenancy agreement’ is the term used by the Residential Tenancies Act for agreements that are covered by the Act. Many people use the term ‘lease’ when they are talking about the agreement they make to rent a place to live, and that is also correct.
