FAQ – If the property is sold, when does a new landlord have to provide the Notice of Landlord?

The new landlord must provide the Notice of Landlord “forthwith.” While forthwith is not defined in the Residential Tenancies Act, the new landlord should serve or post the Notice of Landlord as soon as possible after taking over. Given a landlord has 7 days to provide a new tenant with the notice, this is a good benchmark.
