Laws for Tenants in Alberta
If you are a tenant (or becoming a tenant), there are laws that you need to know. These laws govern the relationship between you and your landlord.
Landlord-tenant law is a mixture of laws made by legislatures (statute law) and laws made from decisions of judges in individual cases over the centuries (case or common law). This site explains the law as it applies to renting residential property in Alberta.
