If you are a tenant, or are thinking of renting, there are laws that you need to know. These laws apply to the relationship between you and your landlord.

Landlord-tenant law is a mixture of laws made by legislatures (called statute law) and laws made by judges (called case law or common law). This site explains the law as it applies to renting residential property in Alberta.
