Rules Landlords Must Follow

The rules or obligations that a landlord must follow fall into two groups:
  1. The rules that are implied by law, even if the agreement between you and the landlord says something different.
  2. The rules that you and the landlord agree to in the lease or tenancy agreement.

There are also rules specific to new landlords. Landlords should also be aware of their obligations.
