Landlord's Right to Enter Property

Once a landlord has rented property to you, he gives up the right to be on the property unless certain situations arise under the law (unless the tenancy agreement provides otherwise), or unless you give him or her permission to be on the property.

The law permits re-entry by a landlord in the following situations:

It is always possible for you to give consent at any time for your landlord to be on the premises. If you give consent, the landlord does not have to serve you with any notice of entry. Note that you do not have to consent and you should not be intimidated into allowing anyone onto the property.
