Ending a Fixed-Term Tenancy

A fixed term tenancy is a tenancy that lasts for a fixed period of time. You and your landlord will agree on what the length of the tenancy period is to be. The tenancy agreement will state the dates between which the tenancy will run. For example, the tenancy might be for six months, for a year, or for five years.

In the absence of any alleged fault by a landlord or a tenant, a fixed term tenancy agreement can only end under the terms of the contract.
